Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered.

How much alcohol should you plan per person for a wedding?
A general rule of thumb is about 0.5L of spirits per drinking guest, plus wine, beer, toasting champagne, and plenty of soft drinks. Our calculator works this out based on your specific guest count and reception profile.
Is the calculator free?
Yes. Calculating your needs is completely free. You can unlock the downloadable PDF shopping list by providing your email address.
Does the calculator include soft drinks?
Yes. In addition to alcohol, we also calculate water, juices, and fizzy drinks – an often underestimated category, especially in the summer.
How accurate are the results?
It's a reliable estimate based on typical consumption. The actual amount needed will depend on your guests and the style of your reception. It's always wise to have a small surplus and ask your venue about their policy on returning unopened bottles.
